theSlacks

Mike's Bistro & Taproom, 40 Devon Street East, New Plymouth

theSlacks Presents is back! We love to support live and local music (and letting other artists do the heavy lifting) and this series of gigs is all about supporting a fantastic local recording studio/jam space/hang out. It's called BUZZY WORLD and we need it. Taranaki loves music.

It's FREE ENTRY thanks to Ron at Mike's Bistro & Taproom, a great and longtime supporter of live music.

The run-sheet for the night (as they say in the biz) is hazy and slightly out of focus, in other words, exactly as we fashioned it.

But TOBY ALVA is the star of the night, be in no doubt. A stone cold talent. You can connect with him here: @t0by.alva

there'll be Slacks too, and we're going to mix it up for 2026. You'll likely get solo-slacks, duo-slacks, three-oh-slacks in a chaotic but entertaining evening.

The game was rained off last time but this time, we're drawing hieroglyphs with sunscreen (250+), doing reverse rain dances and even sacrificing some kale and kombucha to the weather Gods. We are so confident that the sun will shine all day, we didn't even bother with a wet-weather venue! Fingers Crossed!
